When someone things about creating a logo for their business one of the first things to get excited about is 'What colour should it be?' Closely followed by 'My favourite colour is..."


But the colour of a logo says a lot more than you may at first think. Colours have different meanings & associations. Have you ever noticed that companies in particular industries tend to have logo's of similar colours?


Think about the emotion you want your brand to invoke in your customer. How do you want to come across to them? What words resinate with your beliefs about your brand?

Companies operating in professional services or healthcare may prefer blue colour pallets to reflect their professionalism & trustworthiness. Those launching a range of plant based meals may go for greens & yellows to reflect the naturalness & health benefits of their food. As you can see some emotions overlap into more than one colour, & of courser there is always the near infinite variety of shades & variations that can be used to align your brand with an emotion.
